There are 2 main canyons - Odessa and Doran. Odessa used to be a bit easier and Doran was the tough one. It seems that the rains have had a bigger effect on Odessa but they also made the entrance to Doran that much tougher.

Doran past the first 100 - 150 yards is pretty much a cake walk but getting into it can get rather interesting The biggest rig I have personally seen on it is an old style Bronco although I have seen some magazine pix with Blazers and so forth in it. The entrance is probably a good 4 to 4+ on the Johnson Valley scale if I had to rate it which should say all there is to say on it

Odessa is pretty easy to access and you can recognize it as it follows the wash up to a very narrow winding section that is very easy but very interesting visually. Past that, there used to be a squeeze boulder that was rather tame the last time I was there but if that is no longer the case, you guys will need rocker protection. There are 2 main waterfalls, the first which is mild and the second of which goes accesses a very narrow section of canyon. There used to be a road through there and you can see some remaining asphalt hanging up on what would be your right side if you were climbing it. The walls are very closer here. The rains seemed to have washed out the entrance at the bottom which may require rock stacking. With a longer wheelbase, climbing might not be so much of an issue for you guys but you will have to watch it as the hole tilts you into the wall - if it gets to "interesting" for you guys, you can always turn around below it as there is room.

I would say try climbing Odessa and stay away from Doran unless you want to get hardcore about it. I would also say that the trip itself is worth it, the scenery is very strange with all the mine tailings and there are in fact mines to explore if you are into that. I have been down 3 levels in the main mine that is accessed in Mule Canyon Wash. Speaking of which, you need to pass the Ghost Town entrance on your left and then take the next left into the wash (Mule Canyon) to access these trails.
