Dead battery ? NO SMOG CHECK
My jeep has been sitting in the garage for the whole summer. Today I decided to go SMOG it. But the jeep wouldn?t start ? the battery had discharged. I jump started the jeep and drove to the smog station.
To my dismay it failed the inspection. It passed the emissions test and visual inspection but failed the functional check.
?This vehicle failed the MIL/Check Engine Light Test due to failure to successfully complete all OBD self tests.?
The technician said, that?s because there is no history in the jeep computer memory; that I should replace the battery and drive the jeep 60-70 miles.
How accurate is the technician's recommendation, where should I go and buy a good battery, and what largest size Odyssey replaces the stock battery with no modifications?
