How many amps are you running?
Also, is that a lift/scratch start or does it have high frequency? I don't remember.....
Also, you want a pointed tungsten. A sharp point. I can't stress this enough.
A balled toungsten is very tolerant of touching the weld puddle during aluminum. Pointed electrodes on steel are not at all even close to tolerant of contaminatin.
