The computer companies as of late have implemented draconian policies for the post-sale support. I don't know why, I guess people were taking advantage of them somehow. I had a similar experience with HP, only I gave up after three days and sent the computer back. These days, I recommend to ether buy computers locally, where you can return one to the store immediately, or be prepared to ship the computer back to the store; don't even bother with customer support.
Check return policies beforehand.
