Well,
They've not gotten that far, but they should die on account of thier disease rate alone.
That, and they are so prolific, that you'd never really put a dent in the population. It'd just help breed faster, harder to shoot rats with fuzzy tails.
They are rats that mutated to have fuzzy tails so that people wouldn't feel sorry for them.
You see they make rat traps and not squirell traps - they have won their physcological war you know.
