I wonder how much they wasted?
First source I found was $229 for a 1/2" 4x8 sheet.
Some interesting info on nidacore:
"The panels are easy to cut with hand tools. The panels can be used just as plywood panels but are lighter and stiffer. Ideal for soles (cockpit and cabin), decks, bulkheads and generally all boat interior parts where light weight, extra stiffness and insulation are critical. A 4x8' 1/2" panels weighs 26 lbs compared to 1/2" Meranti with only one layer of 12 oz. biaxial on each side at 60 lbs."
