We had to get our own Mexican insurance. Since 9/11, it now runs about $24 a day for everything including liability, full medical, bail bond, legal assisstance, etc. through AAA. The minimum package is about $18 a day.
I would never go to Baja by myself. However, with a small group of three or four Jeeps, you would not have a problem.
