I built a reserve power supply for a rough vacuum pump (Edwards 18).
There is a cascade of two turbo pumps downstream from the vacuum pump, and when the electricity goes down, as the rough pump quits, the turbo pumps don’t have a chance to spin down, and the turbine blades just get destroyed. Those turbo pumps are expensive, so I built this system to keep the rough pump going for a few minutes after power loss.
I utilized the following:
Tripp Lite APS2012 2000W 12V DC to AC Inverter with Automatic Line-to-Battery 100/25-Amp Charger
Odyssey 31-PC2150S Heavy Duty Commercial Battery
…and some big-ass cables.
The
ANL fuse holder just lies on top of the battery. It is held up by cables very well, but tends to shift just slightly. My hands are itching to screw it down. Adhesive will certainly work; I just want it to be removable, so that I can replace the battery easily.
Maybe those 3M Command Strips? LOL
