When I got my plasma I also bought a schnazzy new Bose system to go with it, only to discover that even with the high price tag it didn't have a single HDMI input.
Back to the store it went.
BTW, even though I have no intention of watching a movie any time soon, I have this sudden urge to go bargain hunting along with you guys ... that's how I ended up with a Playstation 2 several years back that I used about a dozen times.
