Angry BLKTJ BRIAN is missing because:

his apartment was robbed while he was in moab, and he now has no computer, among other things.
what a bummer! it is too bad there are people like this just to mess with peoples things.
he said that he would like to post his pics, and feelings about this run... soon.

Exclamation

That's just not right.

Brian needs a new computer. Please let me know if the collection has been setup already. Otherwise, I can do it.

What do you say?

To be accurate, his apartment was burgled. Anyway, that really sucks Brian. I hope you have your logon password protected and that you have renters insurance. If you're just looking for an internet capable computer, I may have an old dinosaur or two laying around at my office. I'll take a look tomorrow and see what I have.

List what else you need replacing and maybe one of us will have it.

or, more accurately, get the list to someone who still has a computer and they can post it for you.

We can help

I have an extra computer that you are welcome to. It's an E-Machine T1840

Specs:
1.80 GHz Intel Celeron Processor
128 MB DDR
40 GB Ultra ATA Hard Drive
CD-RW
DVD
It has a Network Card and a Modem
Key Board & Mouse
Comes loaded with Window's XP

The monitor is a 17" but it's kind of old (HP) and will work with the computer.

Only used about 4 months. Let me know and I'll put it back to the orginal configuration and find the software disks and manual.

You can even have my Norton Internet Security software, since I upgraded to 2004.

Getting burgled really sucks, what else do you need?

Kat

We do have ulterior motives. It's really hard to replace a great punching bag.

I just got a note from William.

He heard what happened, and he is donating some money to Brian.

William is currently aboard the aircraft carrier Ronald Reagan. He will be crossing the equator soon.

Thank you to everybody who has donated. And to those who haven't, please do so. It doesn't have to be a lot. Every dollar helps, and just the fact that how many people choose to help will be a great moral boost to Brian.

When you get around to internet access, I'm sorry to hear about your place getting broken into Brian.

On a side note, as a person who's crappy HP PC finally gave up the ghost, I also know how badly it sucks to only have internet access at work.

Who knew you were going on vacation? When our house got broken into, it turned out to be the tweaker son who lived 6 houses away from us, who knew we'd be out of town.

Anyway, I hope they catch the bastiches.

Best of luck dealing with getting everything back in order, Brian.

Hello all. Thank you for your kind words and generosity.

The burglary could have been worse. They got my computer, telephone, 3/8ths abd 1/4" ratchet set, set of vice grips, my collection of dvds and some cds, 2 wrist watches and all the loose cash laying around the apartment.(not that much)

someone tried to cash a check at the BofA in studio city. thankfully the bank would not cash it without verbal verification.

they did not take any furniture, my tv, stereo or dvd player. they left the warn conversion. they left my impact wrench and sockets.

Thanks Kat for the offer of the computer, I will take you up on that while I research what's available these days.

as for the collection, thank you, you folks are great. I really don't feel worthy.

as for the police... they didn't seem to care much. didn't take any prints, said that the scene wasn't "clean" due to the apt manager having the window fixed.

I am asking the building owners to install bars on the window that was broken into.

thank you all again.

Brian.

It erks me to hear about the knuckleheads who would take Brians items! However, in the same breath, it's refreshing to see the contributions that folks here have come together to help out with where they could!

indeed.... another fine example of jeepin' comrodery, and in general helping out a "friend" or... punching bag, as some like to put it .
hell... this might even help him lure in the girl.
brian, tell her they swiped your shower curtain, and you need to use her shower for a few days. that should work!

Sent in a few bucks to help out. Good luck getting back on your feet Brian. Did the landlord even give you a call or did you walk in to find the stuff missing?

Now anyone want to set up the "Wind_Danzer Rental Car Fund" so I can get the hell out of this rat hole they put me up in for the next few weeks?

The apt manager had left messages for me, contacted my parents and called work. I didn't get the info until I got back into cell range on my way home sunday evening.

In a way I'm glad no one got ahold of me. It would have ruined my week and there wasn't anything I could have done about it after the fact.

thanks again all.
