Odyssey Battery Top Cover

Does anybody know if it is critical not to compromise integrity of an Odyssey battery top cover? I know it’s a sealed battery, but is the top cover part of the seal?

Basically, I want to attach an ANL fuse holder to the top of an Odyssey 31-PC2150S with four #6 self-pierce sheet metal screws This is for stationary, vibration free application; I don’t need it to hold strong, Velcro tape would do, I just want it to look nice, and for the fuse box to be removable to facilitate battery replacement.

Are you building a motorized potato masher?

Would a good silicone adhesive not work for that Sergey?

I built a reserve power supply for a rough vacuum pump (Edwards 18).

There is a cascade of two turbo pumps downstream from the vacuum pump, and when the electricity goes down, as the rough pump quits, the turbo pumps don’t have a chance to spin down, and the turbine blades just get destroyed. Those turbo pumps are expensive, so I built this system to keep the rough pump going for a few minutes after power loss.

I utilized the following:

Tripp Lite APS2012 2000W 12V DC to AC Inverter with Automatic Line-to-Battery 100/25-Amp Charger

Odyssey 31-PC2150S Heavy Duty Commercial Battery

…and some big-ass cables.

The ANL fuse holder just lies on top of the battery. It is held up by cables very well, but tends to shift just slightly. My hands are itching to screw it down. Adhesive will certainly work; I just want it to be removable, so that I can replace the battery easily.

Maybe those 3M Command Strips? LOL

Talking

Oh, and the funniest part: the UPS guy asked for my help when he was unloading the Odyssey. It weighs 83 pounds.
