Gooder news

Superior sent us a kit for Erik's jeep for the 8.8 to do some testing.

Eliminates the c-clip with nearly an additional inch of width per side, alloy axleshafts, rated for extreme side loading, works perfectly with the disc brakes, and is easily installed with non power hand tools. Basically a hacksaw and a file.

Plus the design practically guarantees no leakage.

Cut-off disc and flap wheel did make it go a bit faster.

Erik and Scott have some pics somewhere.

AWESOME. I was hoping Erik would get things installed before HDR.

Looking forward to the write-up.

There is a proprietary to Superior housing flange adapter to carry the tapered roller bearing and seal. It is very similar to the Dana 44 but larger. The shaft has a shaft collar just like all axles held in at the housing flange.

It also uses a very heavy duty flange retainer.

I am just absolutely amazed at how fast this has gone from "drawn in the sand at JV camp" to release to the public.

Someone must be working with Superior that really knows how to get stuff DONE!

How long until the offshore knockoffs from other companies show up?

Seriously, this thing ought to sell a ton. What a great idea.

Track this thread and quote my prediction. I give it 6-8 months unmolested shelf life before Alloy USA or Randy's Ring and Pinion copy it.
