JV vs. K&N filters

Johnson Valley vs K & N........

guess who won

I know everyone here knows how bad K&N filters are so just a heads up for those searching. After my trip helping out on the Tin Benders Run, my filter was pretty close to clogged shut with JV silt....... on my way home last night the last of the holes must have sealed up, the Jeep almost quit running and lost a lot of power. To get home I had to take the filter off the Jeep!

I guess it's time for a new filter set up too......

agreed 100% but in order to have my OBA I had to ditch the stock box. I guess it's a catch 22 for me I am looking into a air box again, and will fab something to work!

Do you think possibly one of these would work? The box has never been opened.

must've been lucky on mine then. It worked great with a K&N Airaid set up and then with the stock airbox ... didn't even have to pound the stock fender to make it fit

And the JV silt that didn't get trapped by the K&N made in through to the engine

I went through this on my 4.3L recently trying to find something other then the K&N style thing. I ended up with a paper filter for a Honda after tearing through every box in 3 different auto parts stores.

If you want I could come up with the donor if you just wanted a replacement filter instead of reworking what you have
