ron, you might like this.

a friend of mine makes these kits for the gen 2 dodge trucks.

i saw him at work and asked him about them a while back. if you frequent the TDR you might know him as Bob V. he makes them for other dodge trucks with an CAD front axle too. i suppose they would work on yjs too...

here ya go:

this little valve will allow me to use low range while backing my trailer or in tight areas where i need to use more caution. it will prevent my front axle from locking into 4wd. i will also be able to shift that front axle in and out whenever in 4 hi or 4 low to go from 2 to 4 wd. plus it has the added bonus of being a cool doo-dad that confuses pretty much anyone who looks at it.


here is what you get along with some great instructions with diagrams.

this is all i needed to make the install possible.

i removed the outer and inner boot for an easy install.

you can see the square plug for the vacuum lines. this picture is taken after reinstallation of plug.

this is the plug as it looks before cutting the tubing.


i had to split the boot to get it off the plug. this line was replaced by a plug.

played around with it on my steep ass driveway tonight and it works well. if my driveway was wet id have to be in 4wd anyways.
its nice and makes me happy maybe we can do a ctd night run and try it
