Dual battery set-up - mixing batteries
I am just starting to look into what's needed to set up dual batteries in my TJ. I have a Mean Green battery tray already installed and a red top Optima in the lower position. I used to have a PC1200 Odyssey in there on stock tray. I was wondering if I can use the Odyssey as the second battery, or should I get a second Red Top (or Yellow Top)?

I know from experience you can't mix them with flooded cells unless you have a wicked isolator that only charges them individually. The greater charge acceptance rate of the AGM will boil the flooded cell dry in short order if commonly charged.

The MG tray strap is not compatible with the square shape of the Oddysey without hacking it up. BTDT .
