Rookie Run + not so Rookie Run

There's been talk, sniveling, and rumor of some of you that want to get your rigs out to JV before the season winds down.

I thought I would kinda use this post to let everyone get that figured out, a date written in stone and also remind everyone that if you start now and figure you can hit every other weekend out there, we are down to 3 chances to get this run in.

Actually I figure there's about 6 weeks or so left before the temps get outa hand, so post up, let's nail it down and go wheeling.

Candidates I know of are Matt Pascoe, Robert, and Rick.

I am not wheeling in this hemisphere all the way through the beginning of May.

Putting extra hours at work, getting ready for the expedition, and then actually going on the expedition.

The couple weeks till Calico I mentioned makes that trip April 9-10. Any other weekend and I'll be out there. May have my friend Tim riding or driving, depends on how motivated he gets.

I could probably make any weekend work. If I have my girls I would need an extra seat somewhere. Right now I have them the 1st, mid, and last weekend of april, but that could change with my big court date next week.

I am booked this coming weekend (work), the weekend of the 9th(Kendra's 18th b-day) and the weekend of the 22nd(work again).

i'll do my best to work out whatever dates come up.
there are 2 that i cant do, and they are april 1-4, and the i'll drink to that run for mjr.
everything else is good. provided i get my jeep locked up quickly enough.

Its the two year anniversary of the night we met Sarah at Calico...and the beginning of MJR. It happened two years ago today.

Unfortunately, May 7 weekend is probably the only thing I can make. Earlier is not an option due to another run on April 30 (I'll drink to that run rescheduled), and the fact that I will not likely be ready by the 23rd. In fact, I might be pressed to get it done by May 7... I also am out the other weekends in May. So I wouldn't plan around me.

I'm with Brian. Since there doesn't seem to be a consensus on the Rookie Run, how about just deciding on the next run to tide us over?

I'm desperate to get out of the house.

I have two things to take care of on the Jeep. Hopefully both of them will happen next weekend. After that, I'm open. The 30th might not be the best. How 'bout you Jeff?

With three little ones, getting the house ready to sell, looking for a new house and a new hockey season starting up, I'm busy every weekend.

So, I just have to make the time. That said, any weekend is as good as the next for the forseeable future. FWIW, I won't have my tow vehicle/sleeping quarters on the last weekend of the month.

i am also hoping to get my jeep back together this coming weekend.
i may have to temporarily have to put the lock right back in there until the arb comes in.

I just noticed the Toyota Jamboree is the weekend of April 23rd.

I'm thinking that means we're wheeling the weekend of the 16th.

30th is out for me.

The 7th is much more desireable for May, as the weekend of the 14th I'd like to do general stuff to get ready for my Moab trip.

That's where I stand anyway. Can we get a yea or nea on the 16th???

My wife and I are off the weekend of April 23/24, and the weekend of May 7/8. I'm posting this when she is working, so I'll double check with her when she gets home tonight to ensure nothing is scheduled for those weekends I'm not aware of.

Sounds like the 7/8 of May might work best.

I have scheduled both of those dates and the end of May for High Desert Round-Up. My boss just needs to approve my time off, I'll find out on Friday.

o.k., the 23rd and the 7th. Since I'm committed to wheeling on the 30th, I may not be able to make both.

Wheelin' with the yotas may be interesting.

I will assume the 7th will be slated for the rookie run, if we have any interested rookies.

one question... are 33's and a belly-up on a rubicon(auto) still o.k. for a rookie on said run???
