Thumbs up Project #512952 Seats and Harness

Finished getting the seats and harnesses in this AM. My el cheapo Sparcos (gotta love industry deals) are about the most comfortable seat I've even been near, but they will require a weight loss plan if I gain ANY weight. They hug like a bear.

Seth.

Are they supposed to hold up better than stock in a roll?

I'm curious as to why you replaced the stockers? Where they worn, uncomfotable, or was it just because you could?

Yes.

The were horendously uncomfortable, made my back hurt, offered absolutely no support and downright sucked.

Where they worn, uncomfotable, or was it just because you could?

Oh... and I got a bitchin' deal on these... but the stock ones were gone'ers anyhow. They are the most uncomfortable car seat I've ever sat in.

Blue gone. Orange stuff? Good eye. They're ear plugs. I don't own a top for the jeep and typically drive it for over about 50 miles any time I'm in it.

Ear plugs make it much more paletable.

Hey,
Ya can't make an omelet without breaking a few eggs. I get out there and I try stuff.

I've rolled. Yep. Twice, as a matter of fact. And you know what. I know what its like. I know how to plan for it. And I'm a better driver for it... Maybe a little less likely to go for something stupid quite so eagerly, but I'm out there doing it.

Its gotta count for something. Besides. I got 4 points now!

I asked earlier about the harnesses...Are they new? I'm wondering if you've been off road with them much? Do they limit your ability to lean over and "look around"?

The shoulders ARE new. The laps have been in for years. I think that the shoulders will be fine for nasty, dangerous stuff, but unneccesary elsewhere. A properly fitting shoulder doesn't restrict movement TOO bad.

Nice looking seats!

Did you get option with the little yellow handle? The one where you yell "EJECT....EJECT....EJECT!!!" and then pull hard?

Sorry...I couldn't help myself. But honestly, those do look nice. I've ridden in Scott Kruize's seats....made by Beard (sp)....I was amazed at the wrap around support they provide. So much different than a factory seat.

The old seats are in my garage. You're welcome to them, but there's nothing left other than the seat itself. I reused all the hardware.

I need the cables and tilt pieces that are in the seat so that would be great.

I can get the seats to Huntington Beach, if you wish to make them disappear.

Did the seats just bolt up to your factory hardware? What model sparcos are those? Im looking at getting seats soon, and have been looking at Mastercrafts and beards.
Thanks
Mike

They're Turinos. Not only are the too expensive for retail purchase, they took all sorts of fab to get them to bolt to the stock sliders. PITA. I'd rather have a Corbeau or a Recaro. The Sparco's were too much time and effort.

I personally hate the MC/ Beard Buckets.

Would that be because they don't work well with fireplug bodystyles or because you don't like the name? Or, are they just a crappy seat?

I fit in the seat, I just find that the lack of adjustability and the scarce lumbar support is uncomfortable after the first 20 minutes.
