Question YJ steering Upgrades?

i have searched, and read, and all i can really seem to find is tj applications for steering upgrades.
i am looking for some info on getting the steering rods out of the rocks on my yj.
the goferit inserts look cool, but there isnt enough info on those on their site.
the wj knuckle idea looks cool too, but there is really no referance to yj's in ay of the wj threads.
well, here are my current conditions...
95 yj, spring under, warn 5 on 4.5 conversion, drop pitman arm, [otherwise completly stock steering arms, and bracketry] AGR steering box, and pump.
any of you yj guys out there that have something that you like?
inventors with ideas?

Eric, call Nelson at Spider Monkey, he does this all the time. Heim joints and everything.

You could either use the inserts or just re-drill your knuckles and flip the tierod to the top. This is how it's done with the Warn XCL kit.

Erik, I have played the rod end game (heim joints) until I can't stand it. If you are going to run 35 or larger tires, get some sort of OEM tie rod ends.

Trust me on this. I've won more than one arguement on this one.

are you suggesting the inserts to flip it, or just leave it alone?
those inserts that flip the whole steering mess to the top of the knuckles loog like they'd work well, but what are the long term affects, and how long do they last? will drilling the knuckle to accept them weaken the knuckle?
or should i just carry a spare friggin tie rod everywhere i go?
thanks for all of your input.
i am running 35" mt/r's by the way...

I ran the tie rod flip inserts for 2 years before going SOA. I ran it with a tie rod from Rusty's to get some more beef in that department too. There was some slight contact at the pitman arm under maximum flex, but nothing that did any damage (rubbed paint off or I wouldn't have known it touched).
