Lightbulb Battery Drills (Milwaukee)

My question today concerns battery drills. I use a Milwaukee 14.4v drill. I am very happy with it, but have a question about battery care. (I threw the manual away without reading it...bad practice)
I was told, years ago, that I should always drain my drill battery (different drill) completly dead before recharging. However, I have been told recently that the Milwaukee drill manual recommends not draining the battery completely (wish I had read that bloody manual!). Perhaps drills use different types of batterys, or perhaps one of my informants was mis-informed ? As you can see I absolutly do not know!
Does anybody here ? Maybe you have the same drill and still have the manual ? Perhaps I will have to just call the manuf.?
Thanks Once more for all of your help.
Have a Happy Jan. 31
Brian

If it's Ni-Cd battery then, I think it's like you said, the best practice is to drain the battery before recharging it. Some folks call it "drain completely", but you don't actually want to drain the battery to the flat 0. If you do that the battery will be ruined.

A quick search on the Internet pulled out this article:

It mentons pros and cons of "reconditioning"...
