ZJ to TJ Rear Disc Question for Blaine??

Good morning Blaine.

I figure if anyone know the answer to this question you would.

Previously I understood you saying the 96 through 98 ZJ D-35 rear disc would bolt right on to the TJ D-35 axles. I know this to be true.

My question is, will the 95 ZJ rear discs fit (bolt up) as well?

I have a friend who wants to do this conversion and has access to the 95 ZJ parts for a few dollars at a salvage yard.

I figured I'd ask you.

Thanks in advance,

Frank

Frank, all the way back to 94 are the same bracket. That is your main concern.

Secondarily is the commonality of parts. 94 is the first year of rear discs on the ZJ and subsequent years are different in several aspects.

The changes were subtle but problematic. The pads are different but just slightly. At first glance they look the same but have to be pounded inbetween the sliders. Not good. They should be a snug but loose fit to be correct. I had to hand file out the slots in Stu's to get them to work.

The e-brake shoes are just enough different to not work.

94 is the odd year, all others should be fine. 94 can also be used quite successfully, just be aware of the year and verify to simplify maintenance when it comes time to get new parts.
