Trail Crew Jambo Run

This is the Jambo run where myself and crew will be leading the run on Aftershock for the Tinbenders.

Camp is in the usual spot.

Dinner will be served.

Please bring firewood.

April , 21, 22, 23. We will be hitting the lakebed sometime Thursday evening to get camp set up.

Directions to the camp.

Boone Rd off of 247 between Yucca Valley and Lucerne.

Follow Boone until it hits a 5 way intersection. Boone generally wanders away in a general straight line from the highway and then starts a gradual sweeping right hand turn that puts you travelling almost parallel with the 247. It will continue to do so for about a mile and then you will hit a major intersection. It's generally a T, but new roads have been added lately, so now it's a 5 way.

Take a hard left. You will know you are on the right path if within 50 yards you see a large clearing on your left with a sand wash just beyond it. The road will dip down through the sand wash and continue on as should you.

Stay on the main road until you get to a right hand bend. Back up about 40 yards or so from that bend and take a left just past 2 bushes on the left side. If you get to the information hut, you have gone too far.

We will have small signs with some sort of reflectors and JeepBBS bumper stickers at the turn and just after to indicate the correct road.

I will edit this post with GPS coordinates of the camp itself.

Maybe we can hook up on the way out if we leave at the same times.

We could meet at the 15/10 and then caravan the rest of the way.

I can make it to the general area, but I still have not been to the "new" campground.

If I'm heading out on Friday, I will definitely give you a call.

I'm shooting for Thursday afternoon though as I would really like to get out and relax a bit before the event.

In any case, it really all depends on work.

If I can afford to play hooky on Thurs, I will.

If not, I'll be out on Fri. But I'll let you know via PM, weds night or so.

Make a left at the 5 roads and another left at the bush thingies. If you pass the turnimabob in the road, you've gone too far.

Starting to pack up.

How do all you wrangler guys fit all your crap in back?

Way less space than my ZJ.

I'm actually going to have to think about this.

And yeah, yeah, I know, Trailer Rig.....

See you guys tomorrow!!!!

I plan to arrive at the camp site ether very late on Thursday night, or mid-day/afternoon on Friday.

Shalom, yea, pretty much an F250 solves all the ?where do I put all this gear? problems. There is not much you can do in a Wrangler on short notice besides taking the rear seat out. If you don?t have a passenger, you can also pile some stuff on the floor in front of the passenger seat, and strap a box or a bag to the passenger seat.

Then there are receiver baskets. I know Erik uses one.
