4.0 no start
1995 Grand cherokee with a 4.0 fine never had problems starting. 250K mi. Today plenty of juice, but will not fire. Pulled neg battery cable for 10 minutes to reset sec system (?). Still the same. Hoping it is not fuel pump assmbly. What would be best starting point to trouble shoot?
Thanks |

If you hear the pump and it won't fire, the first thing I would do is replace the Crank Position Sensor.

I can hear fuel pump kicking in. I have researches replacing CPS and realize it is mounted to Bell housing on Drivers side. If this difficult to change without being able to drive up on ramps?

Diagnosing over the web is difficult at best. With that said, I had what I thought was a bad CPS and it turned out to be a bad coil.
