Wererabbit
Those dang things never stand still long enough to snap a pic.
This one stopped and stared me down. Lucky for rabbit I only was shooting with the camera. Didnt have time to drop in a better lens. Shooting wildlife is a bit difficult. Didnt have time to set anything up. All my stops were a bit out so was the ISO. But shots came out ok. |

No I was using the 17-85. I was getting ready to slam on the 100-400. I got off about 10 pics before the rabbit figured out I was human. It bolted off while I was changing lens.
It was about 35ft away. Quote:

Great catch.
Small and fast animals are hard to photograph. Here is a picture I took in a similar unexpected situation: |

Nice shot. Heres a few with a 100-400l lens
Lizard...was about 250 ft away , I think it was about a ft long. Picture was cropped a bit. This bird was nesting somewhere close. It kept dive bombing my cat. Whats in its mouth is cat fur. Taken with the 100-400 at about 100ft |

Nice pictures.
I'll see your lizard and raze you Sand Monitor Goanna: I was close enough to it to be really scared. Goannas have poor vision, and sometimes confuse people with trees, which they run up to and climb very, very fast. That thing was over 5 ft long. This was taken on Fraser Island off the coast of Queensland in Australia. |

Sergey, your bird is a Sage Grouse, or Sage Hen, or sometimes called Fool's Hen. Very tasty.
