Front Track Bar And Coil Over Axle

We replaced the Skyjacker front track bar with one from Rubicon Express yesterday (thank you to Mr. Blaine and William!). The first thing I noticed after I got on highway was more feedback in the steering wheel, and less bump steer. Then strange thing happened after first several miles, with every other mile I had to turn the steering wheel more to the left, to keep the jeep going straight. We pulled off, and tightened the bolts on the drag link sleeve (this sleeve was loosened to correct the steering wheel that was crooked to the right). After that we continued with the trip, steering went back to normal (though crooked to the left a little, in opposition to being crooked to the right day before with the Skyjacker track bar). I am not sure, if the sleeve not being tight enough caused the steering wheel shift. Maybe it was just the axle finding it’s favorite place under the jeep for the first several highway miles, relative to the control arms.

Did we leave the bolts on the adjusting sleeve loose?

It is not who you know, It is who knows you

Blaine,

I remember you cranking down on them after we settled the line up. When TO and I pulled over, We got maybee 1/4 turn on them, at most, and that was a pretty hard pull to get it. I can't figure it out to save my life.

Now that I think about it TO, I was the last one under the front end of the Jeep after you did the second test drive, and I don't think that I torqued down on that.. that I can remember, and obivisouly, it was not enough as we found out later. Whoa!
