Made it by about 10 minutes. Hope this year is a good one and you can void your moniker and become "unbenched".

Hey my wife and son gave me a surprise Hobart 135 MIG welder for my birthday! It's not the 220 volt model I had decided on but I can't exchange it since she bought it used (but barely used) from a close friend. Oh well, I can always sell it for a 220VAC model if I outgrow this one.

What's cool is that it came with a ful bottle of argon gas, a full-size 2 shelf stand, auto-darkening hood, gloves, instruction books, extra tips, full roll of wire, etc.. I'm not so sure if I will trust the hood though so I think I'm off to the store to buy a better (faster) auto-darkening hood.

So now I just have to buy some scrap steel and start practicing. Welding is something I've wanted to start doing since I had a little taste of it a few years ago. Man this is cool, my garage is now finally (well nearly) complete!
