<<< Hydroboost Completed >>>
I got the TJ's hydroboost upgrade done earlier this week and finished the write-up last night.
A big thanks to Van for driving out to Phoenix to help resolve the problem I was having. I enjoyed the two days we spent hydro-wrenchin' the TJs and the XJ. I know Blaine spent time on the phone with Van too and I wanted to say thanks to him for that as well. I know I picked up a thing or two along the way. I've got to reduce my rear disc pressure some now as it locks up to easily now that I have ample caliper pressure. If anyone has any suggestions as to what as worked for them, please feel free to pass it along. I'm just starting to do some internet digging to see what is out there. Nice write up, as usual.
How about an adjustable proportioning valve? http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerc...78&prmenbr=361 |

Cool deal Stu. My dad has the above listed adjustable valve with his hydroboost setup and it seems to work well.

Thanks for the prop valve info. That fits in the budget for sure! I'll check it out.

I ordered the above prop valve. Looking forward to getting it installed and seeing how it works out.

Hey Stu,
Nice write up. On your rear brake bias, you can stagger your tire pressure front to rear to get some proportioning back. I found 3lbs more in the rear does the trick for my rig. |

Hi Robert,
Thanks for the tip. The valve is due in any day now...but if it doesn't arrive soon enough, I'll give it a try. I think I am locking up hard enough in the rear such that the tire pressure would not reduce it enough....just a hunch. It was a very substantial change from what I had before. Previously, I was almost biased correctly....I hope to regain that and improve on it just a bit with the adjustable prop valve.: |

Saturday AM, I'll be heading out to dial in the Wilwood valve. Looking forward to seeing how it all turns out.

Bruce,
Most folks don't realize it but that cow bell doubles as an accelerometer....and very accurately calibrated I might add. A specific number of bell rings indicates how mang Gs were experienced while stopping. |

I'll assume they work great though - that's what it sounded like! Jeff

How fast were you going each time in the video?

You should have seen the previous week's attempts prior to the Wilwood valve being installed......those were squirrely! After the 2nd stop, I counted my blessings and called it quits. John -- they were all done at 60 MPH. |
