JV Rookie Run 2004

The wheeling season is nearly upon us and it's safe to say that several of us (like me) NEED to get out on the rocks and enjoy each others company before we go crazy.

Enter the JV Rookie Run!

This year's event will be like last years. The group will be kept somewhat small (we like it to be 10-12 rigs). Certainly EVERYONE is invited (Jeff Weston) and the people who've been there done that are REQUIRED to come and help!

I encourage anyone interested to start emailing me - jeffcassens@yahoo.com.

Your rig must be up to snuff, and I'll eventually ask you for specs and such. I hate to come off like a jerk but no D35s please - even with the Super kit. The last time we flexed this rule it bit us in the butt.

We will probably have more then a few seats open for people who want to ride along and enjoy the trail.

Remember the porta potty rule - and I do have to appoligize as I've sold all my RV Dumping passes for the year!

There hasn't been a date set yet, and frankly it's still way to friggen hot and several of us have things to finish on our Jeeps, but I'd like to get all of you thinking about it and get the organizational end of it rolling.

Finish your mods - get your Jeeping junk together - and get ready to have some fun!!!

Jeff

I'm up for a shotgun seat if anyone has one. I promise to actually take more then a few pics this time out. Cross my heart, hope to die, stick a needle in my eye.

Just need a date and a ride from the Palm Springs Airport (provided I'm not working).

So face forward with arms wide open and mind reeling. Your future has arrived... are you ready to go?

I'm looking forward to joining the Rookie Drivers on this round of fun as long as my rig meets the standards, which I think it will! No doubt, this will be an enjoyable event and I wouldn't want to miss it!

I do hope you know that intend to win the undisputed "worst stuck" award this time. The trophy will be mine ... oh yes, it will.

I hope to make it again this year, the Jeep will certainly be better prepared than it was last year.

Deponds on what trail your running. There are some trails there that I haven't done, so I'd be a rookie on them. I think my wife's scrambler would be able to run them.

This is where the experienced folks let their desires take a backseat and cater to the rookies wishes as far as trail selection goes.

Given that Sledge is the most notorious out there, that's where we typically wind up. Just don't want to mislead you into thinking we would wind up on Jack. Although, Outer Limits is a good option as well for rookies as far as the outright pure fun factor.

Not me.

Sledge for sure - OL if we have the time (or maybe Clawhammer or that trail that Uncle Greaser broke all over - that was short and fun).

It's about having fun and making sure we all get off the trail as unscathed as possible while teasing Brian.

Jeff

I'll go, depending on the date! I've run Sledge a bunch so I guess I'll be a helper!

I would love to go. Joe D sent me this way, and I've been dieing to go to the Hammers...hitting the trails in JV is/was the goal in my buildup. Specs are in my sig.

He filled me in on a little of the groups attitude towards wheeling and keeping it clean while out there and I have no problems with what I've heard so far. Hope to hear some more info on the run.

if it means i can go on the run, yes

i do design and prepress for and print on 10' wide inkjets. small and LARGE banners, vehicle wraps, flat signage, etc. printers were designed as billboard printers, but the quality is good enough we use them for closeup applications frequently. currently in the middle of a projected 120-150 payable hour week finishing some banners for a convention. lots of time to read the boards while printing.

Many moons ago when I was a teen I worked for a litho place {one of my only real clock in jobs I ever had}. They were also called stippers for doing mag layout and laser scanning ads and pics for mags. I think the place was called "color bar" or something, in anaheim, near disneyland. Wanna say ball rd past brookhurst somewhere....
