Custom 6061 Weld Cart
I don't remember if I posted this here or not, but I made a custom weld cart to hold our XMT 465 multi process power source and S-74DX wire feeder.
Before photos..... Initially it looked goofy, but I had a long term plan firmly in place and I am VERY happy to say that it is finally complete. One very important thing I have learned in building custom "stuff" ahead of time is that published dimensions by the manufacturer are guestimates at best. It really is best to wait until you have the product in hand. As such, the cart is not perfect, yet even so I don't think I could be any happier with how it turned out. Finished version..... I am really proud of how this turned out.....best estimate is around 20k in equipment.

Okay Mr Showoff....the original cart ...the one before you made it better...do you have a part number for it?...it might be good for my welder and plasma cutter...other than the gay color

This is why you are Number 2. The entire cart was made from scratch, with the exception of the rear bottle holder/axle assembly. There is no part number, unless you want to do as I did. I ordered a runner/wheel kit for a Shopmaster 300 I believe. What I got was the rear bottle holder/axle assembly, and the front casters. The rest I made from 6061 and powdercoated as close to Miller blue as I could. I could build you one for a small fortune.

Well...around here I have slipped to Number 5 or 6.
I thought the first picture...the before one...was a cart you started with. Very nice work....but...you should have gotten custom stickers that said Gentry instead of Miller.

Number 5.5,
Go here and look at the very last cart on this page.....the "Universal Cart & Cylinder Rack, Miller part number 042-934. http://millerwelds.com/products/accessories/carts/ If you are interested in that cart, then go here to download the Owner's Manual and tech specs. The manual will be close to the bottom of the model list. It's under "UNIVERSAL LARGE CYLINDER CART 042934 ". http://millerwelds.com/service/ownersmanuals.php At the bottom of the owners manual is a list of 3 different power sources that fit the top shelf of that cart. If your welder fits "inside" those dimensions, then that cart will work for you. We have a Synchrowave 180 SD on ours. There are several hole patterns pre-drilled in the top shelf. If your welder is a Miller, and it should be, your machine may fit as well without drilling new holes. If you give me dimensions of your plasma, I can see if it will sit on the bottom shelf by measuring ours at work. The $99 weld carts are borderline sucky. This is a nice cart. The price is a little steep, I think we paid $330 for ours, but my only complaint was that the black powdercoat finish was a little thin. Other than that, we're happy with it. Well, the front handle is aggrivating sometimes, but that's about it. #1
