Lockright trouble?
Had some trouble a few weeks ago with some odd loud popping sounds up front. Nothing binding at all that we could see, so I pulled the diff cover when we got to Brandon's house and found a TON of the metallic gear oil (stripper makeup!).
I'm throwing in a new lockright for now due to time constraints and will most likely pick up an ARB when I get back from the JU Moab Run. Pulled the carrier today and am swapping in the new lockright. Hard to tell if anything is really wrong with this one. Thought I'd post a couple of pics of the "stripper makeup" that was in the diff...there was a TON of this stuff when I first pulled the cover at Brandon's....I hope the pics do it justice. Pinion... Old lockright Now time to put the new one in.
