Get killed by your spouse day.

Last minute trip to LCIR on Sunday.

Mike "Duct tape" McCombs is coming back from Hawaii on his way to Norfolk.

He was the guy in the grey YJ on a run to LCIR back in 2000, from the RAMJAW days.

PM, email, or post here if you're interested.

Count me in. Would you like to make it a "Pie for breakfast" run?

I'll ask him what time he plans to be there, and if we've got time, Dudley's is doable.

"Pie for breakfast" run implies that we are going to Julian Pie Company not Dudley's.

Let me know.

Would she smack you on the head with a skillet? Common, Jeff, let's go wheeling, your wife will have mother days every year.

You know, she isn't your mother so it's not it's her day by reason of you.. so she should be with the kids she's the mother of... and all that.

Don't try that at home Jeff!

I would have used that story, but I value my reproductive organs, and don't want them removed.

So, I told the truth, and simply loss anticpated use of them for a few weeks.

Good practice for deployements anyway.

Really? Hmmm. Nah, I'll stick to what I got her. Somehow, I think that may push things over the edge. I need a new window any how.

You know, I think she'd really appreciate that. I've got to get down to Blaine's and pick up a steering system. If he's got it and it works for him, maybe I'll drop down there on Saturday?

As for wheeling, I learned one thing quite early. It is best go all out early on the first of everything. For my first wedding anniversary I surprised my wife with a trip to Maui (as in pack a bag and you'll find out where we are going when we get there). Since then, we go to dinnner ... maybe. Putting in a little effort here will go a long way in the future. I hope she doesn't see this.

I am not going to be at Blaines' until Sunday morning Jeff, no rush. She would probably like a charm or some other type of jewlery better than an axle housing anyways

I'm not 100% sure just yet (I'm still in Japan), but my flight home is Saturday & since I'll enjoy 2 Saturdays due to crossing the International Dateline, I should be able to make it.

Just a recommendation:

If we don't set the meeting place and time soon, we may loose the folks who have access to the Internet only from work. It's Friday.

Thumbs up Sunday, May 11th, 2003 Los Coyotes Run

Sounds perfect.

For apple pie lovers, there is an optional meeting place for around 8 o'clock in the morning:

Julian Pie Company
30270 Highway 78
Santa Ysabel, CA 92070
760-765-2400

Directions:

- (From the North) 15 S to 79 S through Warner Springs. Turn Rt. into driveway of company. The Julian Pie Company is located across from Santa Ysabel Post Office before Hwy 78
- (From the South) 15 N Exit Scripps/Poway Parkway Turn East on Scripps Pkwy. Turn left on 67. Go through Ramona to Santa Ysabel. Pass Dudley's bakery and turn left into Pie Company parking lot.

I will be taking 52 East to Mission George Rd through Santee, then 67 North to Ramona, then 78 East to Santa Ysabel.

To see a map, and get turn-by-turn directions, please click here.

My jeep is white with brownish hard top.

At 8:40 AM we are taking off from the Julian Pie Company to join the main group that is meeting at 9 AM at the Warner Springs gas station.

GPS Coordinates of the Gas Station: N33.28317 W116.63464

The entry to the LCIR is not free; so make sure you have some cash. The price is reasonable, it used to be $10 per vehicle, and it may have gone up since then.

I'm home!!

Sergey, approx what time are you leaving your house? I could possibly meet you there & caravan like last time. I'm up for the pie stop too. Yum, yum.

It looks like I'll have 1 shotgun rider that some of you have met before, his name is Robert W.

Opps, I guess I should have looked at this thread prior to reading the PM. 6:45 sounds good to me. See ya' a little prior to that.

Just for clarification: 6:45 is the same as 1/4 to 7:00 correct?

6:45 is the same as 645.
Or, as some folks call it "quarter to seven in the morning ".

I have another guest/friend/fellow Jeeper that expressed interest in tomorrows run. I'll be stopping by to pick him up prior to our meeting. His rig is "under construction" so he'll ride with me too (at least in the beginning).

Cool

Excellent! The more the merrier.

To William: Dude, I am going to bed, so don't call me tonight about the meeting time.

If I don't hear from you sooner, we'll swing by the Albertsons in Tierrrasanta just before 7 AM, and if you guys are not there, we'll continue on driving to Santa Ysabel. We'll be there up until 840, after that we'll be waiting for you at the Warner Springs gas station.

Well, that was fun! Thanks for the run William, Joe, and everybody. There were four jeeps on the trails, plus one more we picked up past the Dangerous Road. We run the Left Turn Hill, Quiet Road, Jeep Squeeze, Dangerous Road, and the Old Mine trail.

Just an easy day of wheeling, despite all my efforts to make the wrong turns. I figured, if I continue taking every wrong turn, the very last one is bound to be the correct turn (by definition).

Now that I need to wash the new ring out of my shower.... LOL Once again, I had a great time with all of you JeepBBS folks.

It was a fine day of wheelin' & I don't believe anyone actually broke anything big. I suspect the faulty use of 4wd towards the end of the run, for Williams friend, will quickly be narrowed down to either a vacuum issue, or HPD30 switch. The inner most vacuum line had suction, but I'm not sure what the position of his 4wd lever was.

I'm looking forward to possibly going on the "reenlistment" run too!
