Hp D30

Strength wise is their any difference between the non-disco HP D30 and the disco HP D30? I'm having a very hard time in my area finding a non-disco HP D30 yet have found several disco axles for a good price. I understand to convert to TJ axles I would need a block off plate for the vacuum actuator and an inner seal? Is that correct?

well the disco one come out of yjs, so that my abe hard to get the brackets welded in the right spot for your tj. The vac disco ones run the smaller u joints, but the advantage is the intermediates shaft is thicker than the tj shafts from what ive read. I could be wrong tho. Also you can weld up your front diff, set up the vac disco for manual operationa nd you have a slectable locker kind of. Ill be running this in my yj until i can find some tj shafts. But you are right all you need is the block off plate and a new inner seal, i think stu has the warn p/n's for the plate and the seal on his site.
