Hubs, backspacing and 35's!

I'm considering going to 35's instead of 33's as I originally planned. As I understand it the Warn hub conversion will give me 3/4 inch extra width per side. Could I then use my factory wheels? They are 15x8 Canyon's with 5.5 inch (I think) backspacing.
If that's OK for the front what do I do about the rear?

I would say that it is nice to have one more inch of backspacing. I run 4.5" BS 8" wide 15" rims, and I can hardly see any more space available under there with 35" tires, and Warn conversion. We were even worried, that we'd need to space the wheels out a bit on the rear, but it looks like it works fine so far. If you want to keep stock wheels, maybe wheel spacers are the answer...

Anders- your factory wheels have too small of a hole to let the hub come through. Do you need hubs or are you just looking for more width? We have a way of getting alloy axles in there without a hub conversion.

HB has stepped up for us as a financier and guinea pig on this. We really hope it works, or I'm gonna own a lot of really pricey paperweights.

Anders--You can do it but it's not easy, I have Q78 Swampers on my Canyon's, they're 35 3/4" tall x 11.4" wide (actual measurement), the WIDTH is the important thing to consider, If you want 35's I would recco waiting on the 35x10.50 SSR's coming out this fall.

The add'l 3/4" per side will make these tires work in the front. You will have to add a few washers to your front turning stops (reduce turning radius) to clear your control arms.

In the rear take a BFH to the top of your rear spring perches (no problems) and you will probably need to add some 1/2-3/4" wheel spacers.

No 35's for me!

I have decided to go with 33's instead, when I started adding up the cost of going bigger I realized that now is not the time. We are thinking of adding on to the house, it's getting smaller everyday with two kids.

Blaine, the axles you are talking about will they move the wheel out more?

HB, I did not think about the BFH, great idea.

No Anders, they are stock replacements.

Would you rather be animadversional or curmudgeonly? Can you be animadversional without being a curmudgeon?
