Changing Bolt Patterns

Before I go out and get a front axle, I want to make sure that it is easy enough to match it with the bolt patter of my rear (or vice versa).

I have a rear Dana 44 from a Scout II. It is a 5x5.5 bolt pattern. I am looking at a Waggy front 44 (since I can't find any Scout fronts around here, plus the Scouts have a disagreeable caster). The Waggy's are a 6 lug bolt pattern.

So hard would it be to either change the front to match the rear or vice-versa. And what would be involved. I know it is doable, just don't nkow how to do it, yet.

Thanks,

Eric

Fairly common swap. Look at:

I'm doing something _similar_, as I have a Waggy housing, but I'm using Scout knuckles (much higher steering arm)

No problem. The Ford hub assembly/Waggy housing is a fairly common thing to do, there's plenty of write-ups out there. If you need more, I probably have them bookmarked somewhere.

I'm going the route with the Scout/Waggy assembly for a variety of reasons, one of which being it uses CJ-7 hubs and brake parts. 27 spline stub axles and 9062 Warn hubs too.
