The motor mount lift does not work to well with the 4bangers due to the amount of vibrations transmitted. You will probably be better off shimming the existing mount to preserve the rubber bushing. As for the body lift, you may be able to get away without it but you will still have to work on the fan shroud and the shifter linkage.

You can replace the bolts with longer ones and go through a shim.
DO NOT use hockey pucks for anything other than hockey. They have the potential for cracking and causing serious damage.

Tell me about it (14 stitches to the chin later). Seriously, the pucks do have a tendency to chunk and get brittle as they age if my team's "warm-up" pucks are any indication. I still wonder why anybody would even use them when a body lift can be had for $100 or less.

Check out the budget motor mount kit from JKS. It's a 1" block with the correct hardware. I think it works with the 4 cyl and it re-uses the stock motor mounts. I used lots of them and they are pretty cheep too

You will need a 1" BL with a 1" MML for a 4 banger. If not the engine will hit the firewall. Macgyver's idea about the 1" block with stock MM is good. I have the MORE torsion rubber 1" MML and it vibrates like a mutha on my 2.5L, but it is darn strong.

Some of my body lift spacers are cracked too. And they are not even hockey packs. I wonder if hockey packs would have hold up better.
