I guess I'll sit at the top...

Basics: Im a mid thirty-something with a couple kids and an awesome wife. My hobby is being a Marine. The other hobby is jeeps As you can guess, these takes up 99% of my time. I am leaving again in June for 8 Months in lovely Iraq, but am looking forward to a couple trips with the people on this board before then. Semper Fi and God bless.

Lucky for you it's only 8 months. I spent close to 13 years (~156 months) in that armpit on active duty, and another few months after being retired. That puts me at 19, 8 month trips if you can imagine that, but who's counting? I know far too well how sick of that place a person can get.

Get yer asre back home in 1 piece!

No where near 156 months...but this is trip number 5...I wish I could say it was the last, but I have 4 years left till retirement...

I do have to say, each time gets better. I had wireless in my hooch last time I was there, and a great coffee shop a couple rows down Hopefully this trip will include less incoming

Less incoming is a good thing if you're on that end of the stick.

I'm usually the button pusher on the delivery end.

Semper fi! I claim the Marine right through my son- the 2/8 out of LeJune He can claim jeep talk rights through me!! (I got the classier right-to say Semper Fi!!) He just got the rights to trail mud- which he could just as easily get from the corps!!

He was in Al Hillah for a while (part of RSO).(AFTER the corps!)
God bless- welcome aboard.

My wife would say Marine Families have the hardest Job....I would be hard pressed (and likely castrated) to disagree Military families are the true survivors of the war on terrorism.

Anyway, I wheel with the family every chance I get

I wish your son the best with "America's Battalion". Incase you didnt see enough of their unit Logo:

And favorite pic of mine. (Kinda like a poser shot on a mall curb )
