Dunno....the only thing up on the message board about it are the pictures themselves. Not a great picture but surely one that speaks for itself...this was before the one I posted previously.....

What's supposed to be in the yellow circles? I can't tell.

Or do I not want to know?

I'm assuming it was a dog that was tossed out but I don't know....the only thing posted were the pictures. No names, no conclusions, no statements...no info.

Heres an e-mail from a friend of mine I asked him about that roll.

Yeah his name is Myrtle. He was driving a Cruiser that was a rust bucket and was held together with armor coating inside and out. I've been told that the seat belt ripped loose from it anchor points and he was flipped out on the
second roll. He is doing okay but will be down for a while. I think he had some broken ribs and a concussion. His passengers were a little shook up but walked away.

Theres more pics of this incident floating around. I think hes 76 years young...

The driver ended up with a concussion, a few broken ribs and a collapsed lung, he had to be life flighted out of there to a Palm Springs hospital. The organizer of the event (Angie Cook) said up on the stage that evening that he was wearing his seatbelt and that he somehow came out of it. A torn seatbelt makes sense then. His son that was in the rollover is fine.

Wow, what a photo! What's with the dog in the circle? Was he in it when it flipped?

Its not known if the belt ripped or the anchores ripped out of the rusted tub.

This brings up a good saftey topic. I'm sure I'm reviewing my belts and anchors. But what is the best location for the anchors when considering adding a harness system?

The best location is attached to a subframe part of your roll cage that also holds your seats. Since that's pretty difficult to pull off cleanly in a TJ, the eye bolts for the harnesses run through your non rusty tub with sandwich plates.

Angie is very involved in the Adopt A Trail program. We discussed this accident at the last meeting on October 18th.

Turns out the gentlemen in the vehichle DID have his seat belt on, but being a good sized man, it did not hold him in. If I remember correctly, he came out the top of it. Im not sure about the passenger. I havent heard of the wellbeing of the dog.

At that time, she wasnt sure how he was doing. Im glad to hear hes going to pull through. Good news indeed.

For some reason those pictures made me laugh.

It's probably not okay that they did....

Glad the dog is okay.

Its sort of sad the ejection really didnt need to happen. Since I've been relocated to Imperial Valley I see lots of the weekend warrior. Most cannot afford to fix their junk correctly.

This is really a common happening out here.

Heres a few more pics of that rollover. You can see the rig to the left. Nice day for a ride.

Heres the final resting spot. Ruined day. The father layed out in the back ground , the son shell shocked.
