Max Axe 7in1 - opinions?

Anyone have experience with the Max Axe tool? If you've seen or used one, is it pretty high quality, or do you think it's not likely to stand up to routine use? In the spring time there is often the need to clear trails of small trees, broken branches, and slides. I'm thinking all of the tools will get a work out, so it's important this thing is built to last, and as everyone knows space is at a premium.

If you buy one and mount it on your jeep,
you will have severe axle droop limitation,
you will get death wobble, and your jeep will crash and you will die in a fiery death.

I had a friend who's dad's best friends cousin who built river rafts for the Sahara desert who had one and it didn't work well and one day it broke and flattened the tire on his 1976 DJ with 44" boggers and a atlas and an ox locker in the custom d35 rear and it voided his waruntee. He was a poser anyway, since he didn't herculine the ax portion force. I'd call bob suplee about it, if you could just get his phone number..

Whoa Billiam, that was a mouthful. It reminded me of my college days and coffee houses, and poetry that only made sense to the author...anyway, I'm not building rafts and I have a sport, not a sahara. ;P Thanks for the JU answer!

I have had my Max axe for over 7 years now and think it is worth every penny. I do recommend the poly handle over the wood one, though. The tools can stand to be sharpened when you first get it, and some light oil occasionally will fight any bare metal rust. I seldom use mine anymore but it is always in the Jeep, ready. I believe the forest service issues these to some crews, and I know the Air Force has got a stock # somewhere for them.

Two thumbs up for the poly handle here. It's not the best in class as an axe, shovel, rack, hoe, pick or anything else but as an all-in-one unit, you can't beat it. Well worth the money if you ask me. It's been used many times and still works great.

That was pretty funny.

Thanks all, I think it's going on my Xmas list instead of a chainsaw.

I just bought a $10 axe in Homo Depot. It is not as big. But I know how to use an axe and it is big enough for many jobs, excluding cutting the sequoia trees. The only other tool I may see useful is a shovel. What are you gonna use all the other tools for? On the trail gardening?

That's pretty cool TO (although I'm not into it), that you can make Billiam make sheep noises for you.

Well, I guess an axe to cut wood, a pick for use in rocky areas, a rake for helping clear brush/branches, a shovel for killing snakes or squirrels and digging, the handle for whacking belligerents.

Yep, one trip where the ground is frozen, and you'll love the pick.

The how and rake stuff is useful at home. although I did dig a rain runoff trench once with mine.

Well, I'm hoping to get it before I make my next trip down to California I don't want to run into any snakes, squirrels or Californians without being properly armed It's either the handle from a Max Axe or something from my wife's walk-in closet

I've used the pick to bust up a dirt mound that was creating havoc on a Jeep that was trying to back up around a turn. I've used the hoe/rake to clean up a camp ground before too. Yeah, it's not that often you use the stuff but it's handy when you do use it. If you don't see having a use for it, don't buy it.
