Atlas recommendation

Might end up with an Atlas soon.

Which would you recommend for an Auto TJ?

Current specs: 2000TJ, Auto, 35's, 8.8 w/Detroit, HPd30 w/Arb, etc...

Save your money, you don't need one.

Need and want are not the same thing. Steve just wants to be in the $$$$$$$$ t-case club.

With decent brakes, and the right diff gears, 4:56's, or similar, the stock 231 will wheel any trail any where doing anything that it is asked to do except break front axles doing front digs.

The only reason I swapped mine out was doing a recovery where I towed a rig with a blown rear diff out of a pretty decent trail in JV and thinking that towing him up waterfalls on the 39's might be just a tad outside it's design parameters.

It?s soooooo true that the 231 is A LOT stronger than most give it credit. I loved my tera setup for the most part.

I went atlas because

1, I had the cash to spend
2, I wanted a bit more gear (5 to 1 Vs. 4 to 1)
3, It?s a bullet proof t-case that should last me years and my girls years in what ever they put it in.

I know it?s not the best of reasons but if I?m not spending my time or money modifing or wheeling my jeep I get grumpy. I could have other less expensive or more expensive (I used to road race 600cc crotch rockets) hobbies for sure. It keeps me busy and out of trouble for the most part.

Steve?.I know this doesn?t help you in your decision.
But it's something for me to do while I'm working.
