Angry Mit In El Cajon

Very Suspect at this point. Other Jeepers I know have had good experiences. I'm not sure right now.

My D44, currently under re work, was sent there for a axle seal and stud replacement. It appears that the shims for the gears were mauled up. It's hard to say, because the track loc went south as well. I'm not sure that I can recommend them anylonger.

DAMMIT William.. When are you gonna learn to ask??

MIT is bad. Pro Gear Differentials in Kearny Mesa is excellent and very honest.

Go get your axle back.

Call me with questions.

This was done over a year ago Seth. This was March 2001. Right now, the installer I'm using up north to fix the for sale D44 has indicated that there was likely some goobering done. This board, as well as the people I know now.. weren't around then.

Maybe I'm one of the lucky ones, but I've had zero problems with the work I've had them do for me.

Old thread, and I agree with Seth. Por-Gear is the way to go. They set up my rear spool, then when I broke it, they set up another for the same price. The cost of the spool had gone up during the time between the first and second one. Quick, efficient, and kept me informed

The outstanding joke is that MIT stands for "Mechanics In Training"

Sorry you had a bad experience with them. I had a similar experience with Drivetrain Direct. They forgot to use locktite on both front and rear gear installs. They at least stood by their work and fixed the problem.

ONly had one experience with them. Needed some welding done on my front axle. I could of probably had them do that only, but I had them put in some other stuff. They even helped me on day that they were closed and happened to be there. It was only a good experience and perhaps the exception rather than the rule.
