The Rock Stacker Chat

I am releasing the Rock Stacker Chat for Beta Testing.
The entry page can be found here:

http://www.jeepbbs.net/rock_stacker.html

Try it out see, which one you prefer, the regular version, or the java chat.

The regular version is seemingly fine. The Java chat is nifty. But in the end they are both the same thing right? What's easier/cheaper for you?

Hey, I am chatting with you! :-)

I am inclined towards the regular version. The java chat, although, more powerfull, loads slower... But the java version is more powerfull... Hmm, I don't know... :D

I added a third option to the chat page. Basically, we'll need to decide which one we like the best, and keep that one.

Actually. I may be looking into more/better chat oprions.

I have a couple of questions:

- How important to have chat user names and passwords integrated with the forums user names and passwords?

- Do you prefer our personal chat, or a chat on an IRC server somewhere?

I?ve checked on several more options. There are a lot of different chat programs available. For now, I am going to leave the simplest chat up.

The thing is, the serious chatters would want to use mIRC or one of the real chat clients, and go to a real chat server, anyways. Real chat servers, the way they are usually setup are resource intensive, and require a dedicated server. Then, there are plenty of those out there already, no reason to setup our own.

Well, we?ll get it figured out. At least we have some kind of chat for the time being.

As always any suggestions and ideas are welcome.

Future Vision

Someday it would be tre-cool to have live chat with white boarding (net meeting style). Youve done wonders so far, no rush.

It's just that the only thing worse than my writing is my spelling!

We could all sketch up a storm in real time... no, no, hook this to that, like so. Usually napkins and a crayon are my favorite tools but a computer white board would do!

Regards, john V.
