Currie steering strength...
I went to Katemcy Rocks this weekend for some Texas rock crawlin', and proved the strength of my Currie draglink and tie rod system. The front end was in a bind and the weak link proved to be the output shaft of the steering box. It snapped clean off! I couldn't believe it. However, the steering is still straight....

Somehow I think I'd rather bend a tie rod or drag link....

The beauty of ram assist is that it takes all the pressure off of the drag link and steering box and puts it on the ram and tie rod.

It's funny you bring that up, Seth. I was talking to a guy about ram assists the week before this happened. I'm definitely interested in the set-up, but what becomes the weak link? The knuckle? I'm running a HP d30 with 35's, currie steering, and an ARB. Is the ram assist a good option for me, or will it cause failure in more expensive parts? TIA.

not that it can't be done but i have yet to see a ram on a stock tj steering configuration. pretty tight quarters down there.

Its been a while since I've stared at original TJ steering, but I can't imagine why it couldn't be packaged somehow.

If it works well, why wouldn't you recommend it?
