Custom rockers, license relocate/light and poser white/indiglo gauges...pics

Well, I just finished the latest additions to my TJ. I added a daystar poly tranny mount, a lighted license plate frame for my relocated plate, a white gauge cluster that turns indiglo blue or green at night (poser..but I like it hehe) and installed custom rocker protection that I made by welding 2"x3"x3/16" rectangular tubing to the sides of some Currie rock sliders. I also added a 1/8"x3" steel backing plate on the inside of the tub to bolt the rockers to with the body sandwiched between them. Then I sprayed bedliner on them. Haven't pulled the TJ out of the garage yet, because I still need to put the hardtop on for winter. I wanted to share though. I used stainless hardware for the rockers. I haven't decided whether I'll go ahead and extend the rockers all the way to the wheel wells or not. We don't have many rocks around here. Mainly logs and dirt. You can see more pics by clicking HERE See Ya on the trail....Dave

Looks pretty good.

Tell me some more about the small lights you put on your license plate.

Thanks Stu, I bought the license plate frame from 4wheelparts. It's made by Smittybilt and already has the lights in it. I just made a mount for it and put quick disconnects on the wires so that I could remove it easily if I needed the spare. HTH Dave

Thanks for the additional info. I appreciate that. I was ditching the factory mounting scheme and was looking for illumination options for the license plate.

Stu, for $20 from summit magazine you can get lighted bolts meant for lighting our license plate! They look pretty good and the wires are small.

Just a thought.

Summit magazine? I am not familiar with that. Do they have a web site by any chance? Is this Summit Racing?

Sorry about that stu,

Yes it is Summit Racing. They are simlpy called 'Light Bolts' from what I remember...I tried to find them on their website but couldn't. I think the easiest thing to do would be to call them at: (800) 230 -3030or visit their website at: http://www.summitracing.com

I've seen these used mostly on hotrods, but they do look very clean and light the plate very well.

You can also find those bolts on the CB Rack website. I think it is www.cbrack.com
