this is a picture my dad shot of my jeep early 2002. it was right before a big snow storm hit in the hills near our homes. the day started out all wrong with a simple electrical problem that was hard for us to find. lots of winching and towing in the snow. we met 4 bajas and another jeep who were trying to get through to another trail which would meet up with the one we were on and we went along like idiots. dad didnt want to but i did... they all ran out of gas in five feet of snow (dad and i still had half a tank each), out of phone range and cb range until we managed to get out on a skip to olympia. we camped out in the snow which wasnt much of a problem for Dome (dad) and i but most of the other guys were in romeos and jean jackets. thankfully we had enough blankets to go around in our jeeps. needless to say dad and i dont wheel with those guys any longer. even if a chance meeting like this time. we really saved their a$$es from severe hypothermia. i cant believe they didnt come prepared. oh wait, they had whiskey and that makes me angry for a whole nother reason. |

Cool Picture T.Dome! Looks like damn near a white out!
This one is probably mine. Roads like this are common in Colorado but finding a spot to take a picture like this with the scenery is not.

This is from this year at Big Bear. I'm pretty sure that is the last Rock Garden at Holcomb. I am sure that's my 14 yr old son hanging on.

That's Blaine's buddy with a really trick, custom Suburban. Sorry, I don't recall his name.
Hey, that's my rear tire at the front! How's that for an all about me, Allen? I figure you could appreciate that.

Allen PS-From the looks of all those well built rigs.....that doesn't look anything like a "rookie run" to me.

Warbonnet was owned by John Currie. I slapped that name on it for the feature I did a few years ago. I don't know who purchased it from John, though.

btw- you really need to see the 'Burb up close and personal. You can spend a week crawling around over and under it and walk away in utter amazement at the engineering, fabrication and welding it showcases. 8" wider than stock sporting a Detroit Diesel 6V92 powerplant with 44"tall cement mixer tires and a 15,000 lbs rear axle out of a big garbage truck. The pumpkin on the axle is larger around than a 35" MT/R.

Colorado's Black Bear Pass
My Cherokee is the background for this photo.... this reflects my attitude about the journey being the reason to have it. I have this printed at 8x10, hanging on the wall at work where I can look at it every day. It is always nice to know I can jump in, point it any direction of the compass and find something beautiful. I might be a few months late returning from lunch, though.
