novice question

a friend of mine has offered me his 35 x 13.5 x 15 toyos which are in great shape but i am uncertain if i should mount them up on my 8" alloy wheels.

currently running 12.5" wide mtrs on these same wheels now.

any thoughts?

I like the Toyos but they are heavy as can be, so beware. To give you an idea, a 35 MTR weighs much less than a 33 Toyo

I'd be more comfortable seeing them on a 9" wide rim.

I agree with Blaine on rim width. There is a full size Bronco running that same tire on 8" rims locally. He does not do rocks, and has had no problems yet. They will mount up fine, but would rather see it on a bit wider rim.
And yes, the Toyos are a very heavy tire.

i was thinking the same thing today. also forgot how heavy they were...

not too sure the front axle on 10" wide wheels would fit between the fenders on the trailer. the warn hub kit + 10" wide wheels + 13.50" tires might not add up for me.

8" wide with beadlocks would probably do the trick but i dont think my bride is prepared for me to spend that much right now...

thanks for the input.

well, i heard back from trail ready today and they tell me that you cannot or should not bead lock this type of wheel.

Quote:
unfortunately, we cannot beadlock that wheel. The lip isn’t straight enough (it’s too curved) to get a good seal in the beadlock.
just wanted to update my last post to correct it.

i wanted different wheels anyways
