High Voltage Condition
Every once in a while, when driving, my check gauges light turns on, and the voltage indicator pegs to the right, past 19 Volts. Any idea what may be causing this?

My first thought is that one or both of your battery connections has gotten loose/dirty/corroded Sergey. The alternator doesn't get the correct sample voltage back from the battery and starts upping the voltage to try to compensate.
Clean the connectors up and securely tighten them, and then see if you can still rotate the connectors around the battery post after tightening the connectors fully. If they still move, they are worn. The good news is that there's an easy way to get them tight again... widen the gap on the battery connector that the nut and bolt squeezes together to tighten it. I use a Dremmel tool's cutting wheel to widen the gap so the nut and bolt can pull them closer together when the connectors have worn. |
