Anyone have this problem?

I was doing the usual maintence on my 4.5 kit. I had to repack the bearings and make sure everything was ok. The pass. side went with out a hitch. I get to the drivers side and couldn't get the C clip off. After some fumbling around I realize that the C clip had worn a grove into the star washer. Now I can't get the axle out far enough to get the C clip out of the grove and off the axle. So I am at a loss of what to do.
Anyone with any thoughts?

Thanks

stick a prybar between the inner yoke and the inner axle yoke and pry the axle assembly towards the hubs. That will compress the seals enough to get the c-clip off.

So any idea why the C clip cut that groove into the washer?

Maybe it doesn't like you and wanted to complicate your life.

I have a theory that this, more often than not, is the reason that anything goes wrong.

In the grand scheme of things-what's one more thing to complicate life?

If thats the worst I'll take it.
