Excellent pics.

BTW, would Erik happen to have been pulled over/parked on the eastbound side of I-8 just west of Ocotillo ~4:30PM Saturday?

Dang it, I thought so. I was headed east into Ocotillo on Saturday afternoon & saw 2 Jeeps off the side & could have sworn one of them was Erik but I was traveling kind of fast down the hill & wasn't sure so I kept going.

i'll tell you another thing....
those damn jumpin' cap jack cactuses have a nice bite to em'.
i swear it was ALIVE! it jumped on my leg and wouldnt let go.
it seemed to have injected me with something as well. i'll have to look into those a bit more to find out about them

Most likely it's a variety of Cholla, pronounced "choya".

A common variety is known as the "Jumping Cholla" strictly for it's tendencies to appear to jump out of nowhere and attach itself to anything it's spines will penetrate.

if you're gonna be at JV during the Turkey Day run I'll give you some of the magic tire plugs that I got from the tireshop in Alpine ... they do stick way better than the average plug from the average tire repair packages

Cool pix BTW
