Looks like too much fun - sorry I missed it again.

Brian - what broke?

Darrell - you hood looks slightly modified compared to the last time I saw it - did that just happen?

More than happy to help, Brian.

BTW, that pic of you standing in front of your broken jeep is priceless.

Don't worry Chris, when it broke there wasn't any sparks

Yeah, it happened the previous day.

Let's just say wrecking ball kicked my butt. You'll notice the parking/signal light is missing from that side flare. I got it leaned over pretty far when I tagged the hood, but the good news is I was able to drive out of it.

The passenger side fender is a little rumpled. Guess I'll be flat fendering sooner rather than later.

man..looks good. I'd really like to meet up with you guys again soon. Passed over New Year's and ended up kickin' myself. Been busy working on the house since then, and now looking for a new job. Could definitely use a break. Jeep is running pretty good right now too, just need to dry it out. It sat outside for this past storm.

Looks like a lot of fun!

I feel your pain. It's been dipping into the -30s (F) here the past few weeks. I sure wish I had a nice warm garage so I could fix my heater!!

The creativity involved in trail fixes does not always involve the actual part being repaired.

This time we chose to be creative with logistics.

Two rigs with passengers finished the last half of the trail leaving two rigs with passengers behind to get all of Brian's steering off.

The two that continued to the top removed the steering from one of the rigs upon completion of the trail. One of the passengers opted to carry the now removed steering back down the trail to be installed on Brian's rig.

The rig with intact steering then scooted back to camp, grabbed spare steering out of the trailer box and ran it back up to the top to be installed on Darrell's rig. By the time the round trip to the lakebed was done, steering re-installed, and tools picked up, Eric with a k and Brian were almost to the top of the trail.

Fairly painless way to deal with it.

Now, had the trail been longer or further from camp, we did have the means to fix what was there with the welder and some other steering parts, but I wasn't too keen on hacking up my chromemolley steering links if I didn't have to.

Now that is one of the coolest trail 'fixes' I've heard, I'll keep that one in my back pocket for future use. Thanks for the answer Blaine.
