From everything I have read about what the group is doing, or from what I have heard them talk about on the radio, I think that their public mission statement is that they are motivated by being fed up with illegal immegration and the problems it causes in the states that are directly affected by it.

Whether the members have private motivations, I do not know. I'm certainly going to keep an eye out for any stronger or more fleshed out actual reporting on if the group actually has any interaction with groups like the arayan nation, which I would not at all personally approve of.

As of now, it seems that the group is doing exactly what it said it would do. It is patrolling the border, reporting illegal crossings to border patrol or LEO, and calling attention to the fact that our southern border (for whatever reasons) is a sieve, and that the federal government has so far had little interest in doing anything about it.

Like I said in my other post - you have people yik yakking all over the place about who is a racist and who isn't regarding illegal border crossings (and what to do about them) and yet the Federal government has just made it tougher on American citizens to re-enter their own country. They hypocracy is simply over the top yet nobody is speaking to that.

Beyond that, with the potential re-upping of the Patriot Act, they are intent on shoving more of the same Orwellian crap down everyones' throats regardng privacy in reading material, home and thought.

I think this argument/discussion you all have going on here is frankly, quite sad. Pay attention to the real fawking issues if you all want to argue.

I think these folks are doing something about it, they're getting mucy more publicity than ever before, and they're actually having an affect on illegal immigration on the length of border they're covering. Personally, I think the federal government doesn't mind its people getting in these sorts of arguments as it serves as a wonderful means of mis-direction.

I think you're going to have a hard time convincing people about the evils of the patriot act at this point of time. Most people can't see the forrest for the trees, and I think that is especially true of the PA.

Has your life been personally affected by the PA yet?

I think you'd have an easier time getting the TSA and the shoe screening removed at airports than having anything done about the PA.

Personally, I think Americans no longer care about their liberties because they are to wrapped up in trying not to lose what they have.
