stock gas tank

I melted a hole in my stock tank due to a lame exhaust shop. Blaine seemed to remember someone on here doing a Genright tank recently. I discovered it today while pumping about 5 bucks of gas onto the floor at the gas station and having concerned idiots flee when I told them I was going to start it and drive it home...

Do you (whoever you are) are anyone have a stock TJ tank that doesn't have a hole melted in it? Are you in So Cal?

I'm considering a Genright as well - not sure I have the money for it right now though.

Thanks,

Jeff

Did you have to soap your hole?

That was the one thing I was really worried about when I had to drive my TJ across the valley with the exhaust cut off.

I really didn't want to have to soap my hole.

You know?

No - soap is for pussies. I drove that bitch home with a trail of gas....

Christ what a debacle...

Now I just have to convice my wife that getting a Genright is worth the money we don't have...

That, my friend, is why it is imperative to "volunteer" to handle all of the finances.

Did the CEL come on since the fuel system was no longer closed or does your non-Commiefornia emissions Jeep even have those systems?

Taken out of context, this could make for some entertaining reading Anyway, what is the soap supposed to do?

he offers great customer service, and will help you find the tank that best fits your needs.

i'd give you my tank, but the mounting holes for the pump are different.

Quinn and I have worked it out - I will have a 25 gallon Genright tank.

Jeff W - my Jeep did not throw a code when I drove it the one block home. It is a Georgia Jeep but it passes Cali smog.

Lawrence - soaping ones hole stops liquids from leaking out long enough to get to an area where the offending hole can be mended.
